History

The Hotel Borgo Antico is located in the small medieval village of Lucignano d'Arbia of 1200 fortified and crossed by the Via Francigena destination of pilgrimage and artists. It has retained much of its original medieval architecture.

Interesting the fourteenth century tower of Cassero and the beautiful church of S. Francesco (XIII century) with a Gothic portal and frescoes by Bartolo di Fredi.
 
On the road that connects Siena, the city of the Palio, to Monteroni D'Arbia another interesting place to visit is the monumental farm of Cuna, extraordinary fortified granary that was part of Santa Maria della Scala.

Along the Cassia towards Rome palce to visit are the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Montalcino, known for grapevine from which is produced the famous Brunello, the Abbey of St. Antimo, Bagno Vignoni, Montepulciano and Chianciano.
